As for cameras personally i'm a canon man and always will be but either cameras from Nikon or Canon at the same price will give very similar results. It's all about which one you prefer. Both have their good and bad points but both will take pictures as good as each other. It's the photographer at the end of the day not the camera that dictates the results. My advice would be to get an idea of which two cameras you like and go to jessops or somewhere and have a play with them both to see which one you like.
