I think the Sony A200 is excellent value for money and offers the following benefits.

10million pixels- Offers larger prints

Built in Anti Shake- This means every lens has this benefit. You have to pay for this feature on Nikon & Canon and it adds a lot to the price of a lens.

Compatible with minolta and konica 20 year back range of lens, which offer a cheap way into photography.

Price- You can get the camera for £222 with 18-70mm sony kit lens and I personally feel this is a better camera than the Nikon you posted. But I would recommend going into jessops and getting a feel for the camera and then buying somewhere cheaper!
