I killed two head gaskets because I was a numpty and didn't remove the 2nd heaviest part of the head, ie the turbo, and because I was too eager to get it done. Lesson learned, albeit the expensive way.

Thanks for replying though - it's more than the other 42 viewers of the thread have done, with the exception of those who've posted on the Norfolk group's forum.
