sounds like i might have to replace the stalk, have you ever fitted an aftermarket wheel?
sometimes if you fitt it to tight the boss eats away the stalk plastic and the metal inside it is exposed, the boss and metal stalk then blow the fuse in the box.
had this done on my XR3i, turned out i forgot to re-fit the white plastic grommet.
