Cam lube is because the lobes need to bed in to the followers/shims. Do brand new Turbos need the bearings running in? Or have the Manufacturers already made them properly and tested them?



On a related anal point. I read on a BMW forum about an owner who would drain the oil, drain his oil cooler. Put in crap oil. Refill it, run it for 15 mins then disconenct everything again and put in decent oil. "To cut down on excesive engine wear" Waste of time priamrily because even leaving a n engine draingin for a week you arent getting ALL the oil out. And secondarily (word? ) In X thousands miles you arent going to make that much extension to the service life/performance.
