i have just bought a mk1 sierra that was going to be scrapped, so that i can take some bits off for my xr4i, and to use as a recreational drift car, to proove that old fords go sideways best, sad i know! but factual.

It is a 1.6 pinto, and was hoping to use that engine until i can drift properly, then upgrade the engine to poss v6 or something, but the engine lacks power, and when left to idle will cut out. On occasions when driving the car if u dont keep the revs up, she cuts out and then is very difficult to start, but after a few goes she will run.

i have changed leads, plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, and have checked carbs diagphram, and cleaned it with carb cleaner.


Any ideas, will be much appreciated.
