I used these before switching to Yellowstuff, which are even more awsome, but just need a very slight amount of warm to work best but still plenty useable.
The redstuff I found a bit dusty, but very progressive, no noise even though I took off the anti rattle shim on the back(always do), as said work right away from cold, last a long time too, but dust is black so have to clean wheels more often than I like, if you're a heavy braker!!
I can get ferrodo free, but buy ebc that I use.
The ebc red and yellow are also Police approved for thier pursuit cars, few are.
