You could do that but remember that you will have to seperate the outer c.v joint from the driveshaft and refit it into the hub to keep the bearing from collapsing under load.

you just pop the circlip inside the cv and remove the driveshaft and then twist the ballbearings and cage out and job jobbed
or is that what you meant?
you can leave the hub nut and everything untouched on the outside
