OH MY GOD! where do i start?

Right....

First of all... if your dog is ever gonna be around kids, i would recommend a Dogue over and English Mastiff..... purely for clumsiness.... the english is a massive dog and is very clumsy! the dogue is still clumsy, but just not as much!

They both have FANTASTIC temperaments, if they have been raised properly, the english tends to be more territorial than a dogue though!

THIS is a VERY realistic size of an English mastiff:

and they can be VERY stubborn, so if you're out on a walk, and he doesnt wanna move... guess what..... you aint moving!

The english mastiff come sin a variety of colours! Red, fawn, brindle, blue, and the dogues only come in red!

This was smelly, my dogue, when she was fully grown:

On the downside though... the bigger the dog, the less its lifespan is likely to be, smelly died when she was nearly ten, which was a good innings for a dogue, and english mastiffs tend to live a little shorter life.

There are so many dedicated rescue sites to the Molosser breeds, ( dogues, bull mastiffs, neopolitan mastiffs, english mastiffs ) and there is a fantastic frum that does their best to rehome some of the dogs,

you have to register, but once you do you have access to a wealth of molosser experts, and also access to all of the rescue societys as they often have lots of pups that need homes too!

Ok, i am slightly bias and i would say go for the dogue, smelly was the most well mannered and the best behaved dog i have ever had, she never had to be walked on a lead, and was so so loving... and she was a rescue dog from Battersea dogs home in old windsor!

Good luck honey with whatever you decide to do and i will help in any way i can!
