Marring can be a number of things. It's basically a defect in the paint though. i.e swirls, etching and scratches as such.
You can get marring from a number of things really, incorrect washing, incorrect claying procedures, using dirty clothes on paintwork etc.
To fix marring, you will require an abrasive process. i.e
