The innovate LM1 i use has been tested a few times against lab gases and has always been within 0.2 of of an AFR and usually better. For £200ish thats not bad and i can live with it for the occasional mapping i do. You just account for it as a tolerance when you do map.
I'm sure your expensive one is far more accurate but i can't justify the cost of it, or the lab gas recalibrations it will require at regular intervals.
What make of kit do you run?
Get some heat in to the gas and you will see more of a diff, The sensor they use and the calibration against heat is not very good and they even sell a heat sync to help this.
