Default Brake pad warning light

hello all

I'm a bit of a migrant on here as I actually own a 1983 3i, but I have just managed to sort a problem with my brake warning light flashing on start up.

I have had to cut back the wires that go to the pads as they were badly corroded back to inside the inner wing. Shorting the 2 wires on each side still did not put off the light.

After a bit of experimentation I have found out that a 180 ohm resistor across each pair of wires fools the control unit into thinking all is well and the light goes off after the check period. Of course there is no pad warning any more but I check them regularly anyway and until I can find a pair of inner wing to wheel wires with plugs it does just fine.

Hope this helps

Also, I have fitted a rear interior light which is dead handy, looks factory fit and uses the same type of light assembly as in the front. If anyone is interested I will post how.

Cheers
