My Dad recently picked up an S reg Ford Escort 1.4 3dr in white for £200 off an old gentleman who could no longer drive, I'm not joking I have never seen a car cleaner in my life! (apart from now because my Dad doesn't look after his car that well) the old guy had used it to go to the shops and back twice a week....just goes to show there are some bargains out there! Also why don't you pop along to the British Motor Auctions in Preston, I went a few weeks back with my driving instructor and it was amazing what you can pick up for a decent price.
