My mates car used to be exactly like that. However it would do it whenever it felt like but mostly when hot and it was the starter motor. It would either fire right up or crank with no signs of firing by which then you'd have to bump it
Mine was exactly the same replaced with a new one never had a any probs since. was about £38 quid from my local spares shop on an exchage basis
