you want an early as possile escort engine (91-)

the mondeo engine is the same but you would have to sway around a few things on it , escort just makes life easier

the problem is finding a low milage 91 escort engine is going to be difficult , i was you i would look for a low milage later engine and while the engine is out replace the belt and re-wire the fuel shut off
