Come on Andy, you've more common sense than that, let's try to raise the game on PF?? We know it needs to be!

It ALL boils down to price and economics, as always! The thread was started [all be it by one of Jesus' special children] explaining how someone turned up on part worn tyres.

Maybe I'm jumping ahead a bit but I assumed they weren't just worn from when he bought them new and the wearing was all his own use!

I assumed he'd bought them part worn? Hence the reason for thread?

So Bendi's thread was asking a question about safety etc. which all boils down to how the choice was made in the first place? Which I would GENERALLY say is based on price.

I can't imagine we're talking about high performance tyres here.

That didn't answer the question which started with the word "generally". You awkward, awkward man

My grandad was up a ladder once washing the windows on his house. Later that day Hitler declared war on Britain.

That was a pretty bad day too [and about as relevant].

P.S I would buy part worn tyres for myself, for a track car!

But I certainly wouldn't consider buying any used tyres for a customer or something I'd be using on the road myself, especially carrying friends/family around.

That has got nothing to do with some part worn tyres being brilliant etc. etc. as people keep posting. I'd just prefer to buy new. But I also wouldn't buy SOME budgets for any of my own cars as I'm a snob, I drive like a c*nt and I'm not a pikey
