my old man got a mortgage way back in 1978 and he paid it off with 2 weeks worth of basic wages and then had 2 weeks worth of wages to spend on other stuff

scroll forward 15 years and he was paying the mortgage off with 1 days basic wages and had the rest of the money for the month to save, spend, fritter away as he pleased

scroll forward another 15 years and my mortgage costs me a months basic wages with nothing left to spend

if my wife wasn't working and my brother wasn't paying towards the cost i'd be stuffed as everyone else, but i got my mortgage on the 3X rules as both me and my bro were earning enough

but it's everything else that's gone up that's really hitting people hard, fuel has absolutly fucked us all over and the costs of that are trickling down through the market place

i was thinking i'd have a nice morning off today to go and have a visit to junior's nursery, but i've got to work, so should i work to earn the money or go home and not?

you've guesed it, i'll have to work
