4k will be fine with a gen filter and I run Millers 10w60 depending how long it takes to do those 4k miles.

Jay - 56k is a decent life for the engine. As Alex said, 70k max is about all you can hope for as nobody drives then like a Granny.
Just think of all the poor sods with P1's that go at 30k cos of the MAF. That'll cheer you up.

i purposely avoided the p1 because they have engine trouble.
but there are so many type r out there for sale with engine rebuilds that i suppose i should have realised.looks like its only going to cost me £100 to get it sorted though.
