Tommy Banh has recorded the fastest ever standing mile for a street car at this year’s Texas mile.
Held on the runways of a small regional airport in Goliad, Texas every October, the legendary event simply involves a standing mile with a set of speed traps at the end. The fastest speed recorded wins.

His awesome street-legal 3.4 litre, Toyota Supra, GT4718 turbo, was clocked at 228.7 mph

My own car I calculate would require another 450bhp to beat that 228mph, probably more because of the much longer gearing it would require to pull, anyone got a 1500bhp Cossie we can try, these feats are on a different planet.
