G3 is very very abrasive, and I would say really its only use is for flatting new paintwork, G10 is more than sufficient for paint renovation. (the less paint you remove the better)
Alternatively there are better products on the market such as megs, 3M, menzerna (although you sometimes find menzerna is a bit of a pain in cold weather)
What rotary hae you got?? what pads are you using??
Yeah i do agree with you about just using g10, as you say layers of paint will come off with g3.
I used gmop compound heads and polishing heads, i got them from dingbro through a mate who woks there.
And the rotary was a 6 speed makita.
