fan not cutting in could be the fan switch, but how do you know its just not getting hot enough???? best thing to do would be to sort the gauge first to see how hot its actually getting.

temp gauge not working could be the temp sensor????

If you unplug the wire off the temp sensor (on cylinder head) and touch the wire directly onto a metal part of the head (or another earth) the temp gauge should shoot all the way to the top, if it does, the clocks etc are ok and it will prob just be the sensor that will need replaced.
there is no wire going to the temp sensor, unless im looking at the wrong thing??, all i can see is something a mate suggested, which is next to the far right spark plug, it has a rubber triangular cap on it, when u take it off it reveals a threaded bar with a bolt onto the cylinder head?
