personal against professional, it's a hard decision, some may prefer it others may not. Granted I would be spending more man hours calling each and every company local to me but i may also be bothering them when they are working on an important job. A letter would be easier for me (which may sound cheeky)
but it would also be less of a hassle to read and respond than a phone call.
