Where I used to work they'd stick them in a jam jar with a small hole in the lid.
We'd then take an air hose off one of the machines and whack it in the top - slowly turning up the pressure.

The spider would spin - faster and faster until 'Pop'

Very messy and cruel but what can I say, it was some kind of tradition there.
