Okay if this doesn't worry you as you're about to buy one, but a bit of a shit that the value of your XYZ has dropped by a good few k.

It was estimated that the government's new tax system will wipe a total of a couple of BILLION off the value of all the second hand cars made after March 2001 that are adversely affected by the new tax system.

Obviously all the usual suspects (car related bodies) are lobbying against the new system, on the basis that it is killing people financially to introduce such a retrospective tax system. Whether anything is done remains to be seen.
