Yes mate it is a u.s engine out of their escort, ive got a 1.9 cvh american tall block in mine and its a popular route for specialised engines and a few others.

I think the block is a 1860cc capacity, the conversion is available in this standard bore which allows for a rebore when the engines tired or 1905cc straight away which is still within ford tolerances, thats why some people use this route as it the increased capacity within tolerance and the nice gain in torque which is attractive.

Dont get it confused with the other 1.9 conversions that are out there though as they use different routes to achieve the desired capacity, some are shoddy to say the least.
