May sound like a silly question but why would you want to run a two stage boost set up when your car is only running stage 1. Mine is also stage 1 , running 15 psi, nothing is overstressed and fuel economy to power is perfect so i cant see the benefit of switching to a standard boost setting for normal running. I can appreciate the advantages of having a two stage boost set up on a big power engine but not on one thats only mildly tuned.
Bleed valves get a lot of bad press but as long as you ignore the urge to keep messing about with it, once its set it wont harm the car, i had a faulty amal valve on my 4x4 a couple of years ago and so we removed it and fitted a bleed valve so that the car was still mobile. I ran like that for a good few months until i sourced another amal valve , with no problems, then or since. Mind you, my stage 1 chip has a built in safety feature whereby it kills the ignition at 17 psi to protect the engine from overboosting.
Agree with the comment above about poly-bushes, they stiffen up the car no end and as a bonus wont perish over time like standard rubber ones.

You can see a boost valve fitted in this picture below, its the brass tap next to the airbox, you'll also notice that the amal valve is missing. Sorry about the size of the pic, its the only one i have.
