It's still the same base chassis though. All Merc have done is change the engine and called it something different each time. Think they started off with a 3.2 V6 supercharged, then went onto a 5.4 or 5.5 V8 that you could have with or without the supercharger, then their latest one is some 6. something litre with or without turbos, aint a clue lol, it's too confusing!

BMW have just consistently called the M3, the M3 which has had different engines over the years like the Merc, but not so much variation.
