IMO if you want BIG power, like 500+ youd be way way better off with an RX over a 200SX. Its at lower power their reliability querks make em annoying.
And IMO the torque thing isnt true either, they drive way nicer than most piston engines. Even properly ridiculous 1000bhp drag engines drive quite nice, due to the nature of the rotary engine.
But as a lower modified car that you dont want loads of hastle with, 200SX all the way.

Because I wouldnt be happy with "normal" power, and I know rotaries well enough for the issues to not be a big deal.
And they look better, sound better, go better.
Dunno i should have around the 500bhp mark for now and seems fine i can start it easily when warm unlike a heavily modded rex and if it floods i dont have to tow it in gear to clear it
And thats just the start
But suppose its all down to personnal opinion not saying the rex is no good as they are a very very good car but just seem to be alot of hassle with the people i know that owns them
They both have there pro's and con's like every other car i suppose
