Following a thread on here today (please lets not drag it all up again)...How well do you think you manage your debt?

Who's fault is it if someone gets themselves into debt?

How much blame should lenders take for loaning money to those that cannot afford to pay it back? (im thinking sub-prime US market collapse here not person to person loans)

Have you been in debt? How did you get out of it?

Anyone had an IVA or been declared Bankrupt?

I know a guy who is well over 40k in debt due to credit cards and personal loans when he was about 18-24. He just borrowed as much as he could and didn't worry about paying it back.

I helped him sort out an IVA with reasonable paybacks...and now he isn't keeping up the payments.

I washed my hands of it now. I cant physically help him anymore.
