Thats alright mate !!
My brother had same sort of symptoms as you on his Saph (2wd), put a new clutch kit (inc release bearing), machined flywheel & new spigot bearing in & sorted it !!

It turned out to be the spigot in the end.
I think your refering to the clutch release bearing, otherwise known as the thrust bearing & sits on the input shaft of the gearbox attached to the clutch fork.
The spigot bearing sits in the end of the crank, so the input shaft slots into it when slotted onto the engine. Their cheap, bout 10-15 quid I think or might be cheaper.
