Not sure if its down to the amount of rain we have had lately, but I could have filled a 2 litre bottle of water with the water that come out of there, needless to say this water had over time had eaten the outer sills at the base, (where Is my Mig). It was pretty bad, in fact when I unscrewed the Torx screws underneath to remove the skirt itself the screws just spun in the rot.
If this rain ever stops, I will be busy fitting a repairing new sills.
Most the side skirt clips remained intact, but the rivet type items either end needed drilling out, are these replacable, also the outer weather strip at the bottom of the door which slides on these small nodular pins, well a couple of the pins snapped, anyone?
Overall its going well....but I was shocked at the sills, I think some small holes drilled in the skirt wouldn't hurt, and a bucket of wax...
yep i was shocked at mine too but easily repairable. I was devastated TBH but now i know they will never go again after treating the outer sills with mastic 121 and the inside with LOTS of waxoyl
rivets are available yes.
