well i did a speedtest and internet was running at 176kbps So rang Virgin and he asked which antivirus we use ( AVG ) and was it AVG as it had known problems with the Virgin internet speeds, so ive uninstalled it and hey bingo, internet is now back where it was and computer is running fine and at 2meg again where it was beforehand
