which is prob why companys who supply cars with gauges like BMW, nissan ect fit oil temp gauges too ?
power brakes are electric, and work on first stage ign,it makes absolutly no difference if the engine is running..

gauges fitted to cars as std are fine, as they know the oil wont reach breakdown point...they would have tested this during design and production. but when you start tunning the cars....who knows...oil temp will definatly rise, but will it loose pressure enough to be dangerous? how will your temp gauge tell you that?

a temp gauge for me is very handy for telling me when shes ready for a thrash, and also when i need to watch pressure as the oil is reaching its upper temp limits.
