Pressure is a fairly meaningless measurement!!!!!
im more than aware oil thins as it warms and looses pressure, im talking about going over the oils usable temp...around 120degs on fresh mobile 1, and it breaks down very quickly, infact comes out of all the breather ports.

but how would you know the oil has thinned,or broken down by looking at a temp gauge? all oils are different, and the breakdown point varies with oil age...

a temp reading means nothing unless you know the oils exact breakdown temp....

when it thins it looses pressure, so by monitoring pressure you can see when its too thin


if my temp gauge showed 120degs, does that mean the oils broken down and turned to piss? or is my oil good enough to take 130degs? how do you know without monitoring pressure?
