I would like to install a 10ft metal pole (10 ft so no one can reach it without a ladder!!) on the back perimiter so i can mount a camera to overlook the garage door and one to overlook the back lane but im not sure if doing so would attract more criminals/vandals than it deters!! The garage roof is only just over 7ft high so any camera mounted on the edge looking at door would be easily reachable by scum.
Given a choice i wouldn't use blanks, and i wouldnt aim for limbs either, trust!
Lucky i've never pulled trigger (even if it is blanks i know fuzz will be round in seconds with there pony MP5's and i'll get shot
) i think a big blokey with a pump is enough deterrent ;D
Like the idea of a big pole, but like you say it might attract nobs rather than opposite. I was quite proud of my infra-red cams on the chimney, never had any grief at them
