stick a multimeter onto the coilpack plug, you should have a permant live when on ign2 and a pulsed earth on each of the other two wires to trigger the coils when cranking (im meerly assuming that the system is same EDIS setup as on a zetec) still no joy then check your earth strap to the edis module as this will cut it out totally.
