I no i cud do the cams and some headwork, but it means engine out. Im also aware it needs throttle bodies so hear the question.

If i was to higher the compression headwork cams etc, make it rev higher, But i dont want throttle bodies, so would it still be major restricted of air, or will i still get a reasonable gain like 40bhp or somthing. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks.
I'd look for some kind of forced induction.

Turbo charger or nitrous.

Other method's IMO have 2 much to loose in driveablilty and reliability when getting the last little bit. Which let's face it, a sub 20% power gain IMO is a "bit" you'll soon be bored of it.

A bolt on turbo would give 60-100bhp gain be better on fuel and probably more reliable than a higherrevving n/a engine.
