Sorry to thread hijack. IMO, the new selector rod and UJ which you can get from Ford for under £30 is money well spent, if there is any play in yours atall.

They are fairly easy to fit, a bit of a pain to set up and get perfect, but persist. If you don't get it perfect, it will feel like shit and you will feel like you wasted your money. Mine is fantastic to use, but only because I have taken the time to get it spot-on.
