start off with brillo pads and a bucket of warm water to remove the heavy stuff then get a buffer with a compond head ie hard sponge type and lots and lots of metal polish (as you will need a good bit) then sit and relax for a couple of hours while you buff away, it can be done by hand but i wouldnt fancy doing it this way. go to midways in my resto (tread below) and you will see before and afters
