Im one of them,although nothing suddenly or lately in my case, and I know loads of people who have been doing so for years and never had a problem, even on 10K+ miles on trackday engines, with no visible cam wear, in fact ive got hydraulic profile N/A cams in my turbo nova on solid lifters too!

Im well aware that you lose a small amount of lift when you do so, and im also aware that the ramp doesnt have the initial few thou gentley dialled in to increase cam life by lesening the impact at the beginning of the lift like many (but not all anyway!) solid cam profiles do, but bottom line is, it DOES work just fine in a lot of instances.
