Just to add, since my other threads keep disappearing towards the bottom - my router/NAS/wifi box is all uptodate with firmware, all firewalls are turned off, and I can't see it being the wifi card in this laptop cos it works on EVERY other wifi network/hotspot I connect to outside on the streets - I only have problems in my house with my own network!

encryption is WPA (TKIP), all computers are set to sharing, no firewalls on anything, and it just doesn't work! Right now, the wifi indicator told me it now has no or limited connectivity so I'll have to close it all again and try again!
