I agree... i was going to buy the
Canon IXUS 70 (£100 on ebay) as a replacement to my old
IXUS 40 which recently died after 5 years of hard use, but was swayed to go a bit more upmarket and get the Panasonic Lumix TZ5, due to its wide angle lens and HD video capability.
forgot to mention the IXUS range of cameras can record video footage at 30fps at a resolution of 640x480 which is well handy for r/r & track days, or filming the missus etc
