the normal location is NOT the drivers side...........that is to vent crank case pressure as well. This is on 205 as well as 200 blocks by the way.
oil should be returned at below oil level and requires the sump to be modded OR as in your case if you dont want to mod the sump for this you can use the sump plug.

I believe GGR did your breather system and specify how many sides of the block to breath from depending on your stage of tune.

Also the returning oil below oil level in the sump is dependent on who you speak to
