Macs are great - they're more expensive than the average PC, but the advantage is that more effort's gone into making them, and to make the most of what they DO have. It's only underpowered if you didn't get the one you actually needed and skimped on the hardware to save a few quid.

It's much like comparing a new Audi to a Cossie - yes the Cossie can be upgraded quicker, cheaper and easier than the Audi, but the Audi makes better use of what it has (ie, more efficient on fuel for example), and has had a lot more thought put into the design of the whole package.
