being pedantic, but it's not the pit straight, although of course you do enter/exit there on tourist days. when it's in use as a racetrack, nowadays the pits straight is the one on the GP circuit that gets linked, but when it was just the nordschleife, the pits and the start/finish are at the top of the hill where you have the 90 degree right hander (that gets blocked off when linking up with the GP circuit).
