My torque curve tails off massively after about 5.5k on the focus so I change circa 6k or 6.5k the most when really pushing it (7k rev limiter). It's hit the limiter only on the dyno so far
I've found when driving mine if I take it all the way I am more inclined to be at the maximun power in the next gear. I've always taken it all the way regardless of when my power drops off for that reason.
I think I could be wrong there though.
