When I drove my dads TDCi Focus he told me off for taking it to the limiter in the first four gears as there was lots of smoke. I told him to trust me and I did it a few more times. It was like a different car afterwards. So much smoother.

I always live by the rule if it was going to cause damage, the manufacturer wouldn't allow it.
