Write a letter to the Chief Cuntstable, to your local MP, to the Police Complaints Commission and to your insurance company but do not let this drop!! Even if you didnt get your money back, it would cause some grief for the plod as all complaints have to be looked into!!
send one every week to different people without fail till you get your impound charges dropped or reduced- though what you were told was probably thought to be true- it was in their system and it WAS going to pound. But so far as the actual crime- you were guilty of not checking your documents, gutted.
