When i was using a digicam that took 2 AA's i used Duracell Ultra's because thats all that would work.
Id put some cheapo ones in and nothing would happen, id get the battery led flashing red but the Duracell Ultra's used to last ok.
If you dont use it much go for a pack of those from Argos or something, if you use it alot then rechargables would make more sense
