TOTB turned into a commercial event just after the 1st ever run, how can joe blogs be expected to compete at such a high level without company backing, and no company in their right mind is going to plough money into a 14 year (at the youngest) ford to try and compete.
plus its a totally boring event anyway (did that come out loud ?)
